I’ve always believed in prevention in all matters. From our health, society, schools, our work place, our home and the way our government and businesses work. And, unfortunately sometimes not. By letting problems slide by the wayside many times forgotten until exposed too late and the damage is done, spread too far affecting too many. The problem now is unrecognizable, confusing and overwhelming. Where and how it all began begins the blame game. When in fact, we all play a part by accepting readily without question and not realizing there is another side that is never addressed.
How many times does profit or revenue come before the welfare of our society and environment affect our health, well-being and the future of generations to come?
We created the pandemic through our neglect. Or, we didn’t care. Because we didn’t care, we became careless. And, because no one bothered to question, we became reckless. Because the money kept pouring in from daring ventures that were blinded by greed, numb from excess. Words unspoken. Cries unheard. No longer reachable or teachable.
I thought the pandemic would have awakened the conscience . That we would realize that we needed to step back and reevaluate our actions and our transactions. The pandemic gave us the time. Instead, plotting ways to reopen and reap the benefits without treading thoughtfully or carefully. We hadn’t healed the mind, body or soul. Yet, momentary satisfaction seemed to take precedence over commonsense and the welfare and consideration of people and their families. It’s time we take care.
From the conception of our children, we are changed for the better. But, we have to stay healthy in mind, body and spirit. For then it is innate. Within us. We nourish, we teach values–what is acceptable. What is right, what is wrong. What is healthy and what is harmful. What to avoid in our life and what to include that will enhance for the good of your children, yourself and society. That is our responsibility. Now and forever. It seems so simple, Yet, for many it seems foreign and not understood. This pandemic could have been prevented–if we had been more conscientious, considerate and aware of what is done. And, what we do. We continue to learn and that is an incredible gift given to all of us. We can make a better difference in our world by what we accept and how we use our gifts to enhance and restore what is cracked. Not yet broken.
