Fear and Motivation

Fear is to be conquered, understood for its purpose. For there is a reason to be known–to protect from harm in any and every form. To alert us of a lurking presence, harmful, dangerous, or eroding consequences that lie ahead. We need to know to prepare for safety, security, health, and life itself. We are taught and we teach our children and those around us to tread lightly, to be careful and caring for that is part of our a legacy we leave behind in our journey in life that continues to teach and guide us for that knowledge will guard us throughout our lives. We don’t want to go off that beaten path unless we are accomplished explorers, alert to the dangers or pitfalls that might lie ahead. Be prepared. Have a backup plan and trusted person or persons for extra support in this endeavor. If there is a problem or supposed threat that might occur–take heed and document the problematic areas that raised the yellow flag of alert. And bring to light that or those obstacles that can be restructured, reinstated, or removed for the safety and security of those who have not been informed or alerted. They didn’t know. Yet, they should have known.

Fear is a learned reaction, caused by the experience that shocked or hurt–not wanting to ever repeat. At first, we don’t understand why that would happen in the first place until we avoid and learn not to go there and sometimes never go or be there again. As our world gets larger, the distance is further from our known gatekeepers. We become more vulnerable, we continually learn and watch for signs of the amiss, yellow flag, or a waving red flag. Fear can be immobilizing, even traumatizing to the point of paralyzing when in extreme and constant forces in life. That should never be. But, when numbers are too great, and too many mistakes that are left without a thought but ready to repeat carelessness and recklessness become a way of life. A common occurrence or normal behavior in some circumstances, the distance too great and the disconnect for too long. Now forgotten and no longer understood in its importance or priority. Replaced. Misplaced. Insidious dysfunction and corruption now blatantly grow. For it all becomes normal and acceptable. Just watch out, beware, for some don’t know and just don’t care at this point.

There is a motivating factor, one is why we teach the principles in life. There is a reason to guide and teach to prevent problems. There is a code of conduct and a moral code. We are motivated to teach and provide these nuances in life for the best outcome in the future for our children, ourselves, community, and society itself. What we give to others and what we naturally expect from our families, coworkers, society, and throughout the world. We live and work together in agreement for the best outcome for everyone. We all have to adhere to the code of conduct and moral code for a better quality of life. There are no exceptions. There is no amount of money or credentials that take precedence over the well-being of our society in terms of integrity or honesty. Sooner or later consequences intervene.

Fear is a primitive instinct, instilled in the depth of our being. Located at the stem of our brain, when we are stressed or when we feel endangered, we are being given a fight or a flight signal. For preservation, alerting our senses of awareness to caution an ominous presence or presentation. The transaction, maybe, or action. It’s unhealthy to live in a constant state of fear of something or someone. No one can do or be at their best when living in a constant state of fear or uncertainty. But, now the principles in life are no longer applied. New guidelines are made to profit. Some, at the cost and well-being of others, will be permissible if profitable. The moral code, although intangible, is what needs to be understood in its prominence, the moral strength or our foundation, rooted in its greatness and solid in its convictions. The importance of truths to be known and lasting. For the good of all, we cannot allow fear to be the motivating factor, for then, we overreact creating more and bigger problems and drama too. Some people thrive on drama. But that is not a solution. Just a distraction, getting attention, and being in the limelight. Our motivation has to come from a higher place to make a difference.

We don’t ever want to live our lives in fear. Fear alerts us to what is happening around us. There is a hint of something amiss, something not quite right, slightly out of order that will grow to be out of control until uncovered and brought to light, addressed, attended, and exposed to prevent growing problems. A problem can be attended to, but if not understood or kept in the dark, unspoken, “hidden and purposely withheld” agenda. Just lurking, until the time is right. All of our senses are needed to understand and go throughout life. When we use our senses, we can respond appropriately. Motivation awakens us to take action. But, you know? Some people don’t want to know. Some people even want to be led. Until, the reality of a dire situation they or their loved ones could be in–alerts or motivates to a specific action. To save the day. And, when more enlightened and people understand. We all have a reason and purpose that can be used for the good of all. Then, we can save the world or at least do better.

It sounds wonderful, but can we make it so? Some want complete control and some for the love of money. Buying their power. People are impressed at the audacity and capability and their daring to do so. Blatantly. For feeling deserving and entitled. How to make your money honorably grow? Is that possible? I doubt it. Not in this confusing world of disconnect. Communication is sporadic, erratic, or not at all. Remember what happens when those who want complete control. It’s insidious. Slowly eroding the conscience, our ability or desire to know, or be educated to become knowledgeable in our basic needs of caring for ourselves and others. We need to know these things. To be motivated to know, go a little further, dig a little deeper in thoughts, words, and deeds. For too long, we have let big money dictate and profit from shady practice with the help of their own designer rules. It is time we are motivated by the right reason for the good of all. Instead of conflicting and instilled in fear and doubt brought by ruin.

My experiences fed the fire to inspire others. If this was allowed to happen, then I’m not alone, This must be happening to many others. This travesty was allowed and still happens to millions of others and continues to this day. At any rate, the numbers are too great. But, anytime, we accept acts of injustice “of any kind’ only sets principles and standards that become acceptable, permissible, even respectfully acceptable in some circles. Be thankful. Even though systematically programmed.

This was and is a difficult topic to write about, for fear is something I don’t want to dwell upon. Although motivation gives us action to do something. Gives us a reason to respond appropriately. We don’t always do that, even if we want to for the lack of understanding. We are limited in our abilities, capabilities or given encouragement and support when recognized as important. It’s not there. Yet if we had the means–the backing, the funds that in today’s world it’s all about the money going out and coming in. Regardless if unnecessary, even recklessly executed without having to be responsible or to be held accountable. Eventually a downfall. We can’t be cutting corners in difficult times. We need to be motivated to get to the root of the problems “for there are many” unravel the mess, expose the problem areas and change our misguided ways. Back to integrity, honesty, transparency, and our real reason and purpose. We have children going hungry. Families without a home. Inadequate housing, medical care, living on the edge of poverty, sobriety, and security. And our future lies in the hands of a few that have it all but do not care at all. How could that be? What have we learned? How can we learn in this time of disconnect? A big divide has been created, now unreachable, unapproachable–the numbers too great. That’s the mistake. Not prepared.

Be more concerned and discerning in what we accept for even the best can adapt and conform to the rhetoric that is being fed–every waking hour. The longer we neglect, the less motivated we become. Our concern becomes a fading memory to some and harsh reality to others.

In the past four years, I have moved three times. Before that, a pivotal time, the dysfunction and corruption insidiously touched on all transactions grew and became the norm and prosperous to all involved in the making. Seemed I would be caught in a web of deception, where there was no way out. Yet, I was spared for some innate reason. I had a certain amount of funds, which was important or enough for some to find interest or purpose from. During this period of time, I learned that the revenue gained from those around to profit was always the impetus. I could see the erosion of the quality of life, not only for myself but others around. What surprised me was the acceptance. As if in a trance or in shock or disbelief but still held hope, but a certain doubt with a hint of fear permeated their persona. And, it grew. I was surprised by the lack of concern or understanding when I would call the corporate elite, or the government in power even the top bankers with their smooth disregard with a touch or arrogance. They didn’t understand. So, they didn’t know. And, they were taught not to know or care. From there, every transaction became a complicated and eroding contract, to be signed, sealed and accepted. And, the price we pay when we trust too much. And expect transparency and thread of honesty is not to be found. There is a breaking point when motivated by greed.
